Mark Robinson, the controversial GOP Governor nominee in North Carolina, is under fire for disturbing comments he made on a pornographic website over a decade ago, including calling himself a "black NAZI!" and suggesting support for reinstating slavery, according to a CNN KFile investigation.
Robinson's remarks, made between 2008 and 2012 on the "Nude Africa" website, were sexual and lewd. CNN identified him through biographical details and a shared email address associated with the username "minisoldr." The report only includes a small portion of his comments due to their graphic nature.
In the comments, Robinson graphically described his own sexual arousal from secretly “peeping” on women in public gym showers, stating this was a memory he still fantasized about. Other comments revealed his thoughts on issues like race, gender, and abortion. In a forum discussing Black Republicans in October of 2010, he wrote, “I am a black NAZI!”
He also wrote, “Slavery is not bad. Some people need to be slaves. I wish they would bring it (slavery) back. I would certainly buy a few.” Other comments include the frequent use of homophobic, anti semitic and anti-muslim slurs.
Despite his recent anti-transgender statements, Robinson also admitted to enjoying transgender pornography and referred to himself as a "perv" in archived messages.
Robinson’s comments on Nude Africa sharply contrast with his public views on abortion and transgender rights. He has strongly argued that people should only use bathrooms that match their sex assigned at birth, even stating that transgender women should be arrested for using women's restrooms.
Robinson’s campaign has repeatedly denied the comments he made on the adult website. “This is not us. These are not our words. And this is not anything that is characteristic of me,” Robinson said. When presented with the litany of evidence connecting him with the minisoldr username on Nude Africa, Robinson said, “I’m not going to get into the minutia of how somebody manufactured this, these salacious tabloid lies.”
Robinson has decided to stay in the North Carolina race, however, several of his senior campaign staffers have resigned since the report came out.
